Pro Gas Electronics
Policy:
Electronic driving devices are strictly prohibited in Pro Gas. Items
that constitute electronic driving devices include, but are not
limited to, throttle stop controllers, delay boxes, crossover boxes,
and rpm or timer shifters. All such devices must be removed from the
car before passing tech inspection. The driver must accomplish all
driving functions, (not electronics). All on-track tuning of fuel,
throttle, clutch, transmission, and ignition systems must be a
direct function of the driver. Data recorders are allowed for data
acquisition only and in no way may be able to make a control
function that enhances the drivers or tuners ability to control the
performance of the car while it is on the track. No microprocessor
feedback controlled ignition systems allowed. Rev-limiters are
allowed. Three-step controllers are allowed.
Ladder Formation
and Procedures:
All ladders will be set after the last qualifying pass. After the
ladder is set, no changes will be made except alternate insertion
for no-show cars of the first round. These insertions will be placed
directly into the no-show cars qualifying spot in an ascending
order, if more than one spot exists. If alternates are not
available, the open slots will be considered break singles and not
bye-runs. Full points are awarded to the original qualifying driver;
alternate accumulates points after the first round. Prize money will
be awarded to original winning driver; alternate can win money after
reinsertion round. All ladders will be constructed on a professional
format, with number one running number thirty two, number two
running number thirty one, etc.
Lane Choice:
Lane choice is the responsibility of the lowest qualifying racer.
This must be done before leaving the staging lanes. Lane choice does
not have to be selected until the point of entry into the burnout
box. The car without lane choice should refrain from blocking entry
into either lane, regardless of earlier verbal agreement between the
competitors. If both cars have set in the burnout box and a track
oil-down or facility problem occurs causing a delay of the run, the
car with lane choice may request a lane change.
