West Coast Pro Gas Association

Pro Gas A Rules:

  • Any year make or model vehicle , .400 Pro Tree

  • Maximum wheelbase 125 inches, no center steer cars

  • Use of electronics will cause immediate disqualification

  • Closest to index will get lane choice, above 7.60

  • #1 qualifier will get the first round bye run if there is an uneven car count

  • Exceeding 200 mph is an immediate disqualification

  • A car can run quicker than the 7.60 index on a single or bye run, but cannot exceed 200 mph

  • Nitrous oxide and nitrous controllers are permitted

  • The courtesy stage rule does not apply

  • Burnouts past the starting line are allowed

  • You must be a Pro Gas member to accumulate season awards points

  • A driver does not have to run the same car all year. Points are awarded to driver

  • Pro Gas must be the primary class, jumping classes is not allowed

  • Every driver must make at least one qualifying pass entered in Pro Gas

  • To participate at an event you must; pay to race, pass Pro Gas technical inspection, and make a qualifying run prior to start of eliminations.

Pro Gas Electronics Policy:
Electronic driving devices are strictly prohibited in Pro Gas. Items that constitute electronic driving devices include, but are not limited to, throttle stop controllers, delay boxes, crossover boxes, and rpm or timer shifters. All such devices must be removed from the car before passing tech inspection. The driver must accomplish all driving functions, (not electronics). All on-track tuning of fuel, throttle, clutch, transmission, and ignition systems must be a direct function of the driver. Data recorders are allowed for data acquisition only and in no way may be able to make a control function that enhances the drivers or tuners ability to control the performance of the car while it is on the track. No microprocessor feedback controlled ignition systems allowed. Rev-limiters are allowed. Three-step controllers are allowed.

Ladder Formation and Procedures:
All ladders will be set after the last qualifying pass. After the ladder is set, no changes will be made except alternate insertion for no-show cars of the first round. These insertions will be placed directly into the no-show cars qualifying spot in an ascending order, if more than one spot exists. If alternates are not available, the open slots will be considered break singles and not bye-runs. Full points are awarded to the original qualifying driver; alternate accumulates points after the first round. Prize money will be awarded to original winning driver; alternate can win money after reinsertion round. All ladders will be constructed on a professional format, with number one running number thirty two, number two running number thirty one, etc.

Lane choice does not have to be selected until the point of entry into the burnout box. If both cars have set in the burnout box and a track oil-down or facility problem occurs causing a delay of the run, the car with lane choice may request a lane change.
